Our Goal
To strengthen collaboration and identify sustainable relationships between Faith Based Organizations (FBO), AIDS Service Organizations (ASO), Community Based Organizations (CBO) and health departments, which will increase awareness, education and community mobilization around issues related to HIV/AIDS.
The mission of SELAH is to assist faith institutions, and the communities they serve, navigate through the network of local HIV/AIDS service providers, while preserving the principles of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE.
SELAH started with a handful of passionate frontline providers with more than 50 years of HIV/AIDS service. As the brainchild of Robin Whitehead, it was always her focus to engage the faith community with local awareness, prevention and education efforts. But after relocating to Metro Atlanta in 2008, it was obvious that there was still lots of work to be done in the area of mobilization with the faith community and the fight against HIV/AIDS. As a devout Christian, it is believed that Robin was given an epiphany to start SELAH and further directed to offer the program services of FAITH, HOPE and LOVE. Ten years of reservation, uncertainty and doubt would pass before the organization would be launched in 2018.
